The correct answer is b, c or d. Primary structure of proteins involves the sequence of amino acids, which are bonded together by peptide bonds. Secondary structure involves the hydrogen bonds and their formation of either alpha helices or beta-pleated sheets. Tertiary structure involves how these alpha helices or beta-pleated sheets fold amongst each other to create a globular structure. Quaternary structure involves how different proteins come together to form the functional structure – this structure is stabilized by noncovalent bonds and disulfide bonds. Therefore a change in temperature affects the ability of various bond formations and these bonds could break in any of these structures. Denaturation does not cause a change in the amino acid sequence.
