Rotaract is a service organization on campus that helps around the city. They hold various service events that are geared toward cleaning trails, helping the underserved, and assisting different non-profit organizations. Furthermore, Rotaract also has a strong fellowship program that is focused on allowing its 100+ members to interact with one another and socialize. This is why Rotaract is an extremely popular club among underclassmen; it provides them with a forum to interact and also build strong friendships.

Personally, I know that if I hadn’t joined Rotaract my first year, I definitely would not have felt as comfortable at Cal simply because it is so hard to make friends. Rotaract welcomed me with open arms and everyone was extremely nice. I felt like I belonged, and that gave me the support I needed to make Cal my home. I’d strongly recommend any/all freshmen to at least give Rotaract a try because it’s something that could easily turn into your second home.
