-INTERN-
We are excited to welcome freshmen to our PEACE tutor/advisor team this Spring! Freshmen can officially become tutors and advisors in the Spring and may apply to join our team this semester as interns. Interns will coordinate activities for our different tutoring/advising committees, which include Resource Bank management, publishing advising articles, recording tutoring/advising videos, etc.

Interns will receive preference when applications open for positions on our Executive Board.

**Limited tutor positions will be made available to first semester freshmen. Competency in the relevant subject matter will be assessed through an interview with our Executive Board and AP/IB Scores (must have received a 5 or 7, respectively).

~SOPHOMORES- ALUMNI/GRAD STUDENTS~

-TUTOR-
Tutoring is a wonderful way to pass on the knowledge you have gained over the years and assist other students in reaching their academic goals. Our mission as an organization is to make the tutoring process more effective and enjoyable on both sides by offering free peer tutoring for students and allowing tutors the flexibility to set the times and days they are available to tutor.

PEACE tutors have the option to either tutor students one on one or in a group in courses in which they have demonstrated their proficiency. Tutors will be paired with their students and are given the freedom to choose the number of tutoring sessions per week and the days/times they are available to tutor based on their schedule. Throughout the semester the Executive Board will notify tutors for specific courses when requests come in for tutoring in their respective concentrations.

When applying for a position on our PEACE tutor team, applicants will list what subjects and classes they are proficient in and wish to tutor for. We ask all those who wish to tutor to only list classes in which they have received an A- or higher (exceptions may be made on a case by case basis). During the interview process, applicants’ knowledge in these content areas will be assessed by the Executive Board.

Aside from tutoring, tutors can also write articles about their academic experiences at Berkeley that will be featured on our website, contribute to our growing resource bank, host study sessions/mock exams, or make course specific videos.

Requirements for active tutor status are listed below. If you have any further questions about the position, please contact us at peaceatberkeley@gmail.com

-ADVISOR-
Becoming an advisor gives you the unique opportunity to serve as mentors and guides for underclassmen and new students who need assistance in navigating Berkeley and accessing opportunities. Through PEACE we offer various advising resources such as free peer advising sessions, workshops, and blog posts. Our team covers a wide range of topics from course selection, building four year plans, med school/grad school advising, and much more.

PEACE advisors are paired up with students for the semester, allowing us to offer personalized advising for students and an opportunity for long term mentorship experience for advisors.

Requirements for active advisor status are listed below. If you have any further questions about the position, please contact us at peaceatberkeley@gmail.com
