A) Draw the approximate Maxwell-Boltzmann distributions for F2 and Ra interposed on the same graph. Have average velocity on the X-axis and # of particles on the Y-axis. 



B) Draw the distribution for only Ra now, but include one schedule of Ra at a low temperature and another schedule of Ra at a significantly higher temperature. Indicate which one is which.

A) On average, F2 will have a higher average velocity because it has a smaller mass. This is reflected in the graph below. This is based on the following formula: μrms = (3RT/M)½
B) Again, according to the formula: μrms = (3RT/M)½ you can see that particles at a higher temperature have a higher average velocity.
