The Berkeley Medical Reserve Corps is a federally deployable organization comprised of dedicated certified emergency medical professionals striving to make a change in the community through education, preparedness, and personal interaction. The BMRC contributes to the University of California campus and local city through medical volunteering and teaching. Currently, the minimum requirement for all student and community members to join the BMRC is a California EMT-Basic license, which can be obtained through an accredited course. Many of the BMRC’s past members have gone on to medical schools, graduate programs, or found careers in healthcare and medicine. The BMRC provides an excellent way to obtain hands-on experience and clinical exposure, while developing core attributes of a successful medical professional.
