As an extension of Cal Vietnamese Student Association (VSA), VISION is an entirely student-run mentorship program for high school students. During an all-expense paid weekend, high schoolers from all across the state can come together on the Berkeley campus to discuss topics such as identity, family, and leadership in student-led workshops. While the program focuses on issues that affect Vietnamese and Vietnamese Americans, the program accepts and encourages all people interested in volunteering and attending.
This program provides a safe space for individuals to collect, express their opinions, and gain confidence in themselves, all with the support and backing of newfound friends. Many mentees end up attending Cal, coming back to help out with the program, or simply taking away a new sense of direction and perspective when they return home. VISION is a highly collaborative, supportive, and close-knit group of people that have lots of fun together! |
