Hi everyone! I’m William and I’m an adviser for PEACE. I know there are lots of potential Physics majors out there, so I wanted to share how you can go about getting involved in Physics:

Here are the descriptions of each course: http://physics.berkeley.edu/sites/default/files/_/PDF/ucberkeleyphysics_undergradcourses_15_0101.pdf

The 7 series is the default for science majors. 7C is not required for most. If you have taken AP Physics C, consider the honors series. If you have not taken high school physics, consider the 8 series. The Honors series is significantly more time consuming, but it has a much better educational and social environment. There is no test required for these courses, despite what it may say at the linked site. The 8 series is the simplest, but that does not necessarily mean that you will get a higher grade by taking it. Try to aim for (H)7 if you can and then switch into (7)8 if you feel that it is too time consuming. The 10 and C10 courses satisfy physical science breadth, but not life science or pre-med physics. They present a qualitative view of what is otherwise primarily a mathematical subject
