A POST ABOUT DEAD WEEK

Hi everyone, this is Sylvia from PEACE.RRR Week, known colloquially at Berkeley at “Dead Week”, may seem like Spring Break Part Two to some people. After all, you get a whole week of no classes! What better time to go out, party, and sleep in?

Sadly, this is not the case. Dead Week, as the name implies, is about studying your butt off for finals. I’d recommend you maximize your time studying, and save the partying for after finals.

Something that I like to do is develop a study plan. Space out your studying so you’re doing a little bit every day. For example, if one of your finals covers 12 lectures of material, give yourself 4 days to study 3 lectures a day. This will help you retain the information and feel less burnt out.

I’d also recommend getting an adequate amount of sleep each night. Sleep helps consolidate information (read: it helps you be better-prepared for an exam), and keeps you healthy. Now is not the time to stay up late watching Netflix, however tempting that may be.

Dead Week goes by before you know it, so make the most of it.
