Hi everyone! I’m William, and I am an adviser for PEACE Tutoring. I know many students find themselves waitlisted for Math courses, so here’s an alternative way out!
The bottleneck for the waitlist in these courses is the discussion section, not the lecture. You can skip the long list entirely by signing up for a section that has open seats. You can sign up for a section even if you can not attend it and switch into another one that you can once the semester begins and people start to drop. During phase three, the departments often adds more sections randomly to the online schedule of classes: http://schedule.berkeley.edu/
If you were unable to register during phases 1 or 2, you can sneak into the class by checking frequently and signing up directly to the new discussion sections. They are typically during the busiest times, around 11am to 2pm.
